Longing

 

 

There is so much we long for -as the smart, social herd animals that we are,

as the inhabitants of this complicated world.

Peace, connection, guidance, accomplishment, nature, faith... Things that feel just out of reach, or that we once had and lost, or that we're still trying to understand.
In this series, I explore those longings through pure abstraction -colour, texture, light. Each painting begins without a plan. When it's finished, I choose the title that fits

-the longing that the painting seems to carry.
