Intelligence is often mistaken for wisdom. In our society, intelligence is measured, rewarded, admired, from the earliest age. But intelligence without wisdom is just a tool without direction -sometimes a dangerous one.
To me, wisdom is about self-control: the ability to pause between impulse and action. To reflect. To have the quiet courage to choose not to act. Wise people are rarely the loudest in the room. Because with every question answered, so many new ones appear. That keeps them humble. No matter how educated, how experienced -they know they know nothing. There is a lesson in there: rather than finding that frightening, let's look at the world in wonder.
