In Spirits of the Golden Mackerel, I imagined a creature caught between sea and sky, almost cosmic.
Like a fossil drifting through the night, both ancient and alive, leaving a trail of gold behind.
I wanted it to feel both earthly and celestial -to hold a sense of deep time, of transformation, and quiet motion.

I built the surface with resin, in layered browns and copper tones, so the gold leaf would seem to glow from within

-like light remembered through time.
