This piece is about what remains after fire -that delicate space between destruction and renewal. I worked with thin washes of ink and silk thread, letting them move almost on their own, like traces of smoke finding new form.
The surface holds both warmth and quiet; ember tones dissolving into grey, small scars of red still pulsing beneath the ash.
To me, Spirits of Ash & Ember is about transformation -about the beauty that lingers in what has burned, and the life that begins again from its remains.
