Nina
Nina Simone carried a rare mix of brilliance and burden.
Her music was never just music -it was protest, memory, identity,
and a kind of fierce inner truth that she refused to silence.
What I love most is how she could shift from tenderness to power in a heartbeat, as if she was channelling something larger than herself.
In this portrait I wanted to hold that intensity,
the sense of a woman who sang not just with her voice,
but with her whole being.
