A map of something that may never have existed -or perhaps always has.
This piece began as an exploration of surface and texture, but soon became a journey into the unknown.
The copper and purple fabric formed their own continents, stitched and scarred, like a world emerging from memory.
I began with a textured base, almost like ancient stucco,
then added layers of paint, fabric, and embroidery, letting the materials find their own geography.
It became, for me, a painting about discovery -about what lies just beyond the edge of the known.
