Vanessa Jongebloet
Born in Amsterdam in 1969, I was trained as a decorative painter and worked doing faux marble- and wood finishing in the beautiful ancient canal houses of Amsterdam, while exploring in my own paintings new ways to paint and express my vision of the world.
On this site I present three series: my skycapes, (my 'quixotic' landscapes as they say), my resin pieces; three dimensional mineral-shaped canvasses, representing organic structures, which I see as the ‘Structures of Life’, and my portraits:
Today my work can be described as oil paintings in classical style with socially relevant themes, like a series called ‘Heroes of our time’, about female human rights activists, or my 'Little Pietà'.
I also do portraits in commission.
